Groq's Newest Acquisition!
Dear Groqstars,
HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL - DO NOT SHARE
First, I want to take a moment to thanks Mark Heaps's incredibly talented team, and everyone who contributed with GroqDay yesterday. The feedback has been tremendous, and infact, in a large part of why we were able to close an acquisition yesterday in record breaking time. In less than 8 hours from concept in the middle of the night last night?at Adam's GroqDay afterparty - the deal was inked and finalized. That's an example of Execution Velocity. So please also?excuse?the rough draft nature of this email. The brand team is also a bit hungover from the party, and wasn't available to help, so this is an example of the quality of release you can expect when I do it by myself (it should serve as an example of the value of working by one's self?- similarly, the acquisition target was my own idea which I didn't run by anyone for feedback or visibility.)
You may be wondering what company we acquired. The obvious choices would be companies in our space, with established revenue streams and customer relationships, like Maxeler. Or, a company with a technology we could use in the near term to help us achieve Customer Traction in 2022. This time we decided to go another direction, and I think we'll all agree, this acquisition is clearly in the Build for the Future camp. You might also wonder, who would sell their company in only 8 hours, with very little time to get to know the acquirer. I think that will become obvious as you read further.
We all know that the limits of Moore's scaling are near. We've been approaching this with architecture, but there's only so much that can be done. What we need, more than anything else going forward, is transistor density, and technology has been failing us. Though the acquisition decision was a snap one, I assure you, we've been looking for an advantage like this for years.
Without further ado,?please scroll down.

Please welcome to the Groq Family,?FishBrain!?!
How does FishBrain work??Very simply, it uses AI. Let's ask Dr. Givon about the insights that led her to develop the novel computation platform.
j: Dr. Givon, you've been working on FishBrain??technology for over five years, what led you to the insight that made this possible?
Givon: Really, it was seeing the live competition between Lee Sedol, and Alpha Go. I realized that with so much computational power available with computers, that we could finally use it to unlock the power of FishBrain?.
j: You've said that the way you make this work is by using AI, can you explain more?
Givon: Yes. We use a lot of AI. We also use some Machine Learning.
j: Where do you think this technology will lead us in the next few years?
Givon: FishBrain? has the potential to unlock human potential, to help us realize who we can be, want to be, and will be.
j: Thank you, and we look forward to working with you and your talented team going forward Dr. Givon.
Givon: Thank you, it's wonderful to be here. We're excited to add FishBrain? technology to Groq, and hope it will have a significant impact on talent density. In particular, we think we can use FishBrain? to sort resumes, and even to make more accurate hiring decisions.
Thank you GroqStars!?
