Grid Points Velocity Controlled by Noise Map on a Grid

This is a simulation created in Houdini with simple particles, and some wrangling. It starts off with evenly spaced points from a grid. From there the points look up a noise map from a second grid. This controls whether the points get thrown upwards and the direction/magnitude of throw.
It ended up looking a bit like a FLIP simulation but no FLIP solvers were used. The particles were set up not to stray too far from the original area, always trying to get back and stay close to and their original positions.
