POWER TALK

Why Embracing Power Transmission Is Key to Tackling Climate Change?

"One of the biggest challenges for achieving energy transition is transmission grids. This is because the new renewable energy capacities that are coming up across the world will serve little purpose without the power transmission grids to connect the green energy produced in renewable rich areas to the renewable deficit corners of the country," writes Pratik Agarwal, Managing Director of Sterlite Power and Director, Serentica Renewables.

Glad to receive the feature-rich, well-adored GRID. Thanks. The Steriliters are aware of the 3 major challenges the energy sector facing today: 1. Financing Constraints: The limited availability of financing. Despite the country's ambitious renewable energy targets, securing sufficient funds for large-scale projects remains a hurdle. The changing arbitration environment in India is a positive development. 2. Policy and Regulatory Uncertainties: Changes in government policies, fluctuating tariff structures, and evolving regulatory frameworks are creating an uncertain environment. Consistent and transparent regulations are necessary. 3. Land Acquisition and Environmental Concerns: Acquiring suitable land for energy projects, especially in densely populated areas, has become a significant challenge. Environmental concerns pose additional challenges. Amidst these challenges, Sterilite India is moving forward with positive strides. Best wishes.
