But the Failures in the Safety Systems must Not Be covered up.

Last week the bravery shown by the the relatives families and survivors of this tragic event must be mirrored by the Enquiry and the Government implimenting sweeping changes to the Regulation Strategy Planning and Design of Buildings moving forward. For the future generations to live in a safer environment this would be a fitting epitaph to those lost their lives.

As an industry we should unite and assist in this process. Ignore the "Silo effect" of thinking accept change and advice from experts in their respective fields.

No individual system or process would or could have stopped the outcome of this event due to the nature and severity of the attack from the outside of the building.

Lessons must be learned and robust enforceable regulations intitiated.

Alarms, Smoke Control, Sprinklers, Door Sets and Suppression Systems all have a major part to play in safeguarding the population at Home in Work and in Private, Social, Industrial and Commercial Buildings

In closing I wish to focus on the most tragic Death (although all were) in this incident that of an unborn child who,s mother escaped but sadly lost her child (Logan) and the bravery of that family shown at the enquiry aswith all.
