Qatar Investment Authority partners with Ashmore Group to launch $200 million fund (Gulf News)

• Qatar Investment Authority has partnered with UK-based Ashmore Group to launch a $200-million fund aimed at encouraging foreign investors to tap the country’s stock market.
• The Ashmore Qatar Equity Fund was established with the authority as an anchor investor by reallocating shares in listed companies in the country, according to a press statement.
• The reserve’s launch is a part of QIA’s Active Asset Management Initiative, and Ashmore Group has become its first partner.

ADNOC takes stake in carbon capture project developer (Offshore)

• ADNOC has acquired a 10.1% stake in London-based carbon capture and storage (CCS) developer Storegga.?
• Storegga is leading the development of?the Acorn CCS project?in northeast Scotland, which is targeting subsurface storage in the central UK North Sea of up to 10 MM metric tons/year of CO2?by 2030.
• Last month, Storegga and partners Shell UK, Harbour Energy and North Sea Midstream Partners signed a memorandum of understanding with Uniper to ship CO2 captured from the latter’s Grain power station in southeast England to Peterhead Port on Scotland’s east coast.

Greenstone Equity Partners inks GCC distribution deal with Trez capital (Zawya)

Sabic approves $6.4 billion investment for China petrochemicals complex (The National)

• Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic),?the Middle East's biggest petrochemicals company, has finalised the investment of 44.8 billion yuan ($6.4 billion) in a joint venture in?China.
• The investment in the Sabic Fujian petrochemical complex is a significant expansion of Sabic's core investments in the world’s second-largest economy, the company said on Monday.
