Battery-electric vehicle registrations up in March but market share down
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has reported that while battery electric vehicle (BEV) registration volumes were at their highest ever recorded levels in March, market share fell by one percentage point from the same month last year, down to 15.2 per cent. Registrations rose 3.8 per cent, with only fleets showing any volume growth.

630,000 electric vehicles deployed by EV100 companies
630,000 cars and vans have been switched to electric across 71 global markets by EV100 organisations, a new report has revealed. ??
The report from the Climate Group ’s #EV100 initiative, which aims to get the biggest fleet owners in the world to commit to electric, outlines that over the last 12 months, 231,000 vehicles were switched to EVs. This is a jump of 57% from last year.

New EV chargepoints for Brecon Beacons National Park
Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog) has had 16 new electric vehicle charge-points installed - funded by BMW UK through its Recharge in Nature partnership with UK National Parks.
The new charge-points, which are now live, are split evenly between Bannau Brycheiniog National Park’s Visitor Centre in Libanus and Craig-y-Nos Country Park. ?

Climate charity calls for cheaper EVs for care workers
Climate charity Possible, alongside its partners The Care Workers' Charity Charity and think tank New AutoMotive , are calling for the government to establish a social leasing scheme for care workers to access electric vehicles (EVs) at a lower cost.?
In rural and semi-rural areas, care workers cannot realistically do their jobs without a car, and Possible says they are routinely required to drive hundreds of miles and are therefore responsible for high transport emissions.

Consultation on hydrogen powered construction vehicles
Regulations that would allow hydrogen-powered tractors, diggers and forklifts to be used on roads in Great Britain have been set out in a new consultation.
The launch of the consultation comes after the government issued construction equipment manufacturer JCB with a vehicle special order last year, giving the company permission to test its hydrogen-powered diggers on UK roads.
