Green tea linked to heart health?

Green tea linked to heart health?

According to study published online on January 9, 2020 by the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology sipping a cup of tea once a day or so may be good for our heart health.

This long term study included data from more than 100,000 Chinese adults. The information related to their health, behaviours, number of cups of tea they drank were recorded for an average of seven years.

Comparison was made on the basis of two groups, one who drank fewer than three cups a day, and the one who drank more than three cups. The former group had 20% less risk of a heart attack or related problem. This doesn't prove that drinking a tea will provide those benefits, but one of the reason may be flavonoids, that helps to reduce inflammation, a risk factor for heart disease.

Both green and black tea are rich in flavonoids, so next time you have a cup, enjoy the benefits with every sip.
