Green Software Manifesto

Green Software Engineering is new perspective in driving sustainable society and economy in the intersection of digital sovereignty, digital ecology, circular economy, resilient communities, sustainable engineering, transparent software and ecological hardware practices and architectures, predictable cyber operations, competitive society and creative cyber infrastructure capabilities.

The Foundations of Green Software Engineering manifesto rest on foundational skills and competencies needed to conceive, design, architect, implement and operate sustainable software services, applications, products, systems, platforms and infrastructure. Sustainable engineering integrates all the phases and stages of life cycle to create viable methods, products, systems, process and platforms that promote human welfare, resilience, and sovereignty, while protecting human health, ecology, economy, jobs, culture, values and security as a criterion in engineering solutions. ?

These eight core foundations which the Green Software Engineering Manifesto is grounded on following patters and principles:

1.??????Use of sustainable software engineering methods, process, professionalism, patterns and leadership

2.??????Shared understanding of sustainable industry, enterprise and domain architecture driving modularity and bottom-up incremental innovation

3.??????Understanding of agile, circular and reuse engineering solutions and their application in domains to enable continuous sustainable development and operation

4.??????Competency in creating interoperable systems to restrict unnecessary updates, reworks and hardware investments driving short investment life cycles and hardware waste

5.??????Creation reuse code sharing practise and sovereign hubs to accelerate productivity and innovation

6.??????Drive open-source innovation frameworks and code base to create fast predictive customer and operations response success model

7.??????Education of executives, management and staff to new product and systems engineering critical capabilities

8.??????Creation of local green software partner network committed to shared foundations and principles

This Green Software Engineering Manifesto as foundation will deliver significant positive impact on digital transformation and artificial intelligent hungry use cases in societiety and industry. The new knowledge will also impact on long term prospects, create tangible impact on how digital systems are specified and designed in the future, and increase valuable intangible capital (human, relational and structural) having direct impact on societies capabilities to improve human life, communities’ prosperity, societies resilience and capabilities to create wealth for green climate transformation and to make technology choices with local ecology and humans in mind.
