We are all in so called digital era and starting from schools to govt. organizations, everyone is looking to reduce the paper work and bring it on digital medium. This also is linked to how we preserve data and help environment by saving trees by minimized use of papers.
One area I still see where we (corporate world) have lot of opportunity to improve on this front. Recently I was discussing with my colleague about how interviews are going on and he shared one instance where interviewee did not bring the hard copy of the resume. Though my colleague did not like that, I was thinking why are we insisting on having hard copy of resume if we have their digital / Soft copies with us in our recruitment modules of HRMS system?
I did not think much but clearly I see one benefit that we will save lots of papers if this practice of not insisting on hard copies of resume is followed. Almost all people are having smart phones now a days so they can bring soft copy of their updated profiles in smart phones while coming for interview.
I don't really want to conclude anything here but I want to pose this question to all of you and give your suggestions or comments on this. Specially all my HR friends can add more value if this practice can be implemented?
Also I am not aware about if this practice is followed in any organization today?
