The power provider to Atwood's office is the first 100% green electricity retailer in Ontario and they try to reduce their consumption of electricity by using compact fluorescent lights and certified appliances. It's also a policy to remember to turn off lights, computers, and power bars when not in use.

How to adopt: Look up where the power comes from. Depending on where you live, you might be getting power from a renewable source already. If not, there are companies that provide renewable energy or set up fixtures for harvesting solar or wind energy in your home, institutions, office premises, hospitals. And of course, switch off any electronic you're not using and buy energy efficient electronics.
