Green hydrogen: The game-changer in the automotive industry

The automotive industry is going through the transition from conventional petroleum sources of energy to renewable energy sources. EVs are becoming a trend and option for conventional petroleum energy sources. There are a few challenges in EVs like battery, range of the vehicle and charging time. The hydrogen-powered car can resolve these challenges. The obvious question that comes to mind is that, we know this hydrogen car concept for many years then why now? The answer lies in the production of hydrogen.

There are many types of hydrogen according to atomic structure and production methods. Mainly there are four types of hydrogen and their production method. The green hydrogen is produced by the electrolysis process. Now, the electricity used in this process is produced by renewable sources. Therefore this hydrogen production is completely eco-friendly and we can achieve the net-zero carbon emissions goal.

We know the concept of this electrolysis and hydrogen fuel cell for a long time, then why today this process looks feasible? It is because of the price drop in energy production from solar and other renewable sources. Today, the world is booming toward renewable energy, especially solar systems. The price of per Mwh energy production from solar is dropped from $359 to just $40 in just the last 12 years.
