Green Gathering Wins the UK Greener Festival Award 2017!
At the UK Festival Awards in London on November 30, The Green Gathering has been presented with the top UK accolade for green events – The Greener Festival Award 2017, for outstanding commitment to reducing it’s environmental impact, and creating positive social impact.
This is a prestigious award as the festival undergo’s a thorough on site and post event assessment. They are judged across 11 categories including waste, water, power, transport, communication, local community and local ecosystem impacts. The Green Gathering team were also up against some highly respected and commendable peers for this top prize.

All winners of the Internationally recognised Greener Festival Awards 2017 will be announced in mid January, when a ceremony will take place at Eurosonic Noordeslaag.
There will also be opportunity for AGFA winners to collect their awards at the 10th Green Events & Innovations Conference on 6th March in London. This is the annual conference of A Greener Festival where all of the latest issues and solutions are discussed and showcased with the Industry, in the lead up to the International Live Music Conference (ILMC).
The UK Greener Festival Award nominees were Cambridge Folk Festival, Glastonbury Festival of Performing Arts, Green Gathering, Greenbelt Festival, HebCelt, Just So Festival, Kew The Music, Meadows Festival, Nozstock: The Hidden Valley and Wood Festival
A Greener Festival would like to offer a huge congratulations to The Green Gathering team. This award is highly deserved after so many years of commitment and determination to make not only a greener festival but also foster change towards a greener society. All of the UK Greener Festival Award nominees did incredible work to improve the industry’s environmental impact, and are extremely worthy of this recognition.
