Greek hackers retaliate against Turkish hackers recent attack on Greek government sites.

In a tit for tat, the Greek Anonymous Hacker team seems that they got back a Turkish hacking group calling itself Anka Neferler Tim (Phoenix's Helmets) that disrupted the Greek Intelligence Service site, the websites of Greece’s parliament, foreign ministry, and that of the Hellenic Finance Ministry on January 17, 2020 for more than 90 minutes. It is obvious that the surprise visit of Libyan General Haftar to Greece on January 16, 2020 to discuss matters of the Libyan conflict with Athens and possible options that can be taken together against Turkey seems to have annoyed certain circles in Anatolia. More precisely: On their Facebook page, the hackers group, Anka Neferler Tim, justified their actions by saying that: "Greece is threatening Turkey in the Aegean Sea and in the Eastern Mediterranean. And now it's threatening the conference on Libya", AFP reported. (1)

As a result of this Turkish hacking action Turkish government websites were found in the crosshairs of Anonymous Greece, according to ETHNOS Media news agency.(2) Anonymous Greece made this reprisal "hit" public in response to yesterday's cyber attack, which websites of the Hellenic Republic were attacked by Turkish hackers.

More precisely their statement was: "Likewise as the Turks struck yesterday, so did we a day later in retaliation. Our aim is to inform the attacks have just begun. For each new strike, a new article will be uploaded in the media. We will now show what we have hit within a few hours, "Anonymous Greece said in their message. (3)

The list of the Turkish sites that were hit is as follows:

1. 112 Emergency Call number

2. Sabah Email Service

3. Hurriyet Email Service

4. 112 Emergency Email Service

5. Turkish Police ( EGM ) Email Service

6. Saglik Email service

7. Ekonomi Email service

8. Enerji Email service

9. SIP-VOIP of Turkish Enerji

10. MIT (Turkish Intelligence Agency) Email service (4)

Thus we have to ask the question, is this just a hot Turkish Greek engagement in the Mediterranean and in the Balkan peninsula that just expresses itself in the field of a hybrid warfare or is one that has the potential to explode into a real conflict that will ironically engulf more regional and international players than that of Greece and Turkey? One thing is sure that if Ankara continuous its neo Ottoman revisionist policies in the Maghreb, the Aegean, the Mediterranean, the Balkans and in the Middle East nothing peaceful will come from it.
