The Greatness Within

The Greatness Within

Our special guest this week is Pastor Dr. Fitzgerald Reed, a friend, and a man I seek out for advice.

Good (God) story:?

Fitz and I met in a highly improbable way = Hotel breakfast bar in D.C. The waitress sat us next to each other in the nearly empty restaurant area. So close, it would have been weird and uncomfortable to not talk.?

Within about 10mins, Dr. Reed and I realized we both had the rest of the day free and both planned on walking around the National Mall and seeing the D.C. sights and we were both planning to go solo = we decided to not go solo.?

Science says God?

I’m a Six Sigma Black Belt from the American Society for Quality (hardest test to take) and statistically analyzing outcomes is my world and second nature = the math doesn’t add up. The probability of this situation, the day’s conversations, and all the interactions that happened after are incalculably low.

Fitz and I touched on deep personal/emotional topics my best friends and I have never discussed. My wife and I watched his 'Salem Christian Church' service from our home in central Minnesota a few weeks after I returned from D.C. I don’t remember the specific topic but I do remember the look on my wife's face as Dr. Reed spoke = the message hit home. It felt like it was for us.

“How to find the Greatness Within you”

This is the title Fitz picked for this week and my following thoughts are independent = we didn’t talk about it yet. I coach boxing and my first thought skewed in the boxing direction. I’ve had a few think about it and my perception went deeper.?

Struggle is unavoidable.

Hurt is unavoidable, hardships are unavoidable = now what? Where do you go when there is nowhere to run? My heart hurts a bit as I write this and I’m not sure why. I’m taking it as a sign we’re on the right path and Pastor Dr. Fitzgerald Reed could finish out my thought.

What do you do when there’s nothing you can do? = Pray.?
