Greatness

This is one of the most inspirational videos I have ever had the opportunity to watch. Watching this 30-minute video was definitely the best way for me to remove any doubt I had in myself.

Today someone whose opinion I hold dear to my heart, unknowingly, showed me their doubt in the path that I have chosen. Having the same feelings of doubt placed inside of me, I made a decision that most people would not make. Instead of this opinion enticing me to give up, it kenneled my fire for success. He did not expose himself with any harmful intentions, but merely pure ignorance to how serious I am about my goal.

I decided that I will not let this opinion stop me, nor my pursuit of happiness. As a wise man once said, "Don't take advice from someone whose life you do not want." As conceited as this may sound, it is accurate. Yes, everyone has good advice to give, however, if you follow one person's ideas, and only one person's ideas, you will follow his or her exact same path. Their path becomes your path. One must always listen to others, but everything you hear should be taken with a grain of salt. Always perform your own due diligence. Create your own goals. Create your own opportunities. Create your own future.

Steve Jobs was laughed at until he released his first invention. Tom Brady was not drafted until the 6th round in the 2000 NFL draft. However, Tom Brady and Steve Jobs never gave up on their dream. And now they share something in common; greatness. Greatness lies beneath the average person's line of sight. It just lies there, unnoticed, through the grind, until it may go unnoticed no more. It takes a loss to create a winner, and it takes another person's doubt to create certainty. Success is not only about being the best but about failing, then working to never fail again. Success is not only about failing, then working to never fail again, but working through any doubt inside, and out.

Every day there will be people who doubt your skills, and your mindset, but that is not a hurdle put in your path to stop you, but a weight strategically placed in front of you to lift and inevitably make you even stronger.
