The greatest values: be yourself, don't be afraid

Few days ago I had the opportunity to host a virtual lunch with a group of great IBM Digital Sales reps, where I was asked to share the key success factors in my career. Usually you would look at your professional life, success stories, influencers, episodes, key decisions you took (or you missed...); this time, I decided to go different and look back at my personal life and identify the values, the learning and the experiences that forged my personality, and then compare how much of those I have kept or changed in my professional life. I have to say that, surprisingly, I struggled to find anything I do different at work than when I was young, and I really mean values. I was lucky, I grew up surrounded by great people, humble but smart, simple but fine minds, and they instilled in me the values, the way I still live and work with. Whatever I have done in my career, is directly linked to what they taught me.

Going through photos and memories helped me to recall many of the people and episodes, it was very emotional experience to me. Two things above all: first, be yourself, despite sometimes it's not easy and maybe not even popular; second, don't be afraid, be the one driving the change.

And today I got a super nice present from the team, this video!

Thank you Lele Terenzani and Ewa Przewoznik for the opportunity to be with your team and for this great video!
