I want you to guess many how long it took me to go from the photo on the right to the left??
12 weeks? 4 weeks? Take a guess.
It is actually 1 HR. Yup Believe it or Not. Here is the deal. Social Media has created completely unrealistic expectations of body images. Every week you see hundreds of photos of people who just always seem to be shredded and have that perfect body. To give you a clue. Most of the people you see on Instagram or Facebook don't look like they do in their photos the majority of the time.
Wanna know the secret?
In the photo on the right I was not flexing, under harsh light, just had eaten donuts (I love them), and had not started my workout. I took the photo once and made sure I didn't look happy. Apparently, you aren't allowed to be happy when you start an exercise program.
In the photo on the left, I was flexing as hard as possible, had spent 1 HR lifting to get a pump, used top lighting to enhance the photo, then used three editing tools on to sharpen my definition. I took over 20 shots until I found the perfect one.
Next time you see a photo on the internet take a second to realize most of the time its just a show.
No filter....yeah right more like #HeavilyEdited
Screw perfection. Be you. Be proud of who you REALLY are. Don't let a mirror or the number of likes on facebook tell you otherwise.
