The Greatest Legacy
This weekend I had a chance to spend my time with my nephew, he's from Rome where the rest of my family is from as well. During our conversation he told me of the "Christmas" tradition that we have had since my earliest of days.
Every Christmas (when I was a child) all of my father's family would fly into Rome and spend one week together. I remember these times fondly as we got to see our aunts and uncles and especially our cousins; it was a really special time that we would look forward to all year long. It has been a long time since I've been back to renew this tradition, but they have kept it going. The closeness one feels at that special time of the year, seeing your loved ones (even if for only one week) was frankly "awesome" . Keeping this tradition going has created a legacy that I could see in my young nephew's eyes, the same warmth I felt when thinking about it I could see in him. This was the greatest legacy of all one that has been passed on to the next generations...looking forward to Christmas and what it has meant to us all..I would like to thank my family for having taught me this valuable lesson.
