Great work by our Cara ó Cymru Choktaw artist will launch Gaeltacht Feirste Clochán

Tom Griffiths, the mighty stonemason from Cymru has ceased from his labours. The final re-seeding planting and installation of artworks will complete the job. It has been a labour of love and Belfast's Gaeltacht community were privileged to find our fellow Celt to raise the first clochán in Ireland for almost a millennium.

Plans are now well in hand to prepare for the public launch of this piece of ornamental artwork which will reignite connections to our very deep spiritual and artistic roots.

It will be our great honour on June 23rd to give a céad mile Fáilte to Waylon Gary White Deer, Choktaw Nation author and artist, who will perform the honours of officially dedicating this work to current and future generations. What could be more fitting than the honouring of an ancient debt owed by an Cine Gael to the Choktaw Nation who, in the generosity of their spirit, came to the aid of our ancestors when they were beset by an Gorta Mór.

Those who don't get it will ask why?, those who do get it will continue to ask the perennial why not?
