It is indeed India Decade, rather India Centuary and a great vision for India is envisioned by none other than the Honble Prime Minister of India for India @ 2047 and towards this The World Food India 2023 is being organised at Delhi from 02 to 05 Nov 23. It is indeed a very ambitious camapaign of Government of India and the effforts made in last 09 years have catapulted India to 07th position world wide in Food Processing and it is some where likned to Food Security also. It is pertinent to mention that there were only 02 Mega Food Parks in 2014 and it is more than 20 now in 2013 and it speaks volume that what is a great opportunity is there for global investors in India for next decade. While food processing capacity of India was just 02 lakh metric tonne in 2014 and it has gone up by 15 times in 2023. The Government of India is aiming to setup nearly 10,000 FPOs Pan India by FY 2024 and 7,000 have already been setup and seed funding has been provcided through PLIs & collateral free loans. It is also very important to bring it to the readers notice that Indian products coming out of Food Processing Industry have become brand name in many geographies globally. The government of India have prepared nearly 02 lakh entrepreneurs in this industry so far and 70 % are women out of that. It is also pertinent to mention that nearly 09 crore women are assiciated with self-help groups and ODOP(One District One Product) programme is also helping in promotion of Food Processing in India. As urbanisation is increasing in India and there is lot of demands that are coming out from this industry mainly from 03 aspects that are crucial for the progress of this industry and that are 1.Small Farmers 2.Small businesses and 3. Women folk associated with this industry.The small businesses are encouraged with seed fundings. The vast geographi and diversity of India is also represented by the Food Quality & Food Diversity as food habbits changes in India at every 500 kms. It is a bif factor as India had been traditinally a global hub for spices and many products made out of that. The seasonal foods are must in India as they add freshness and quality to the food habbits and thats make each India healthy physically as well as mentally and it increases the average national productivity. So, India economy has been sustainable in spite lot of loot took place in India by the invaders & British over a period of 1000 years. The food economy has played a role making Indian Economy as sustainable and it is true globally also. Today a large section of world population is turning vegeterionism ands Indian foods are liked in each country and their percentage is increasing. India is having about 18 % of global population and represent / share nearly 16 % of global GDP so accordingly India must have the same % in Global Food Processing Industry and with this persuit in mind the Honble Prime Minister is pushing this industry in India with global investment opportunities and I am sure India shall be number 01 food processing nation in next 01 decade from now for sure. It is also important to mention that India Food Processing Industry contributes nearly 27 % in India Agri Export and it is going to increase by the efforts made in this direction. FPOs are going to increase income of small farmers and small businesses shall see spurt and so in number of growing entrepreneurs each year in this industry and it is going to be dominated by women associated with self-help groups and as new entrepreneurs.So, all the best to this segent of industry on rise in India and welcome global investors for the global good and Global Food Security. The Honble Prime Minister is not leaving any stone unturned to make these huge opportunitie available globally.
