Just back from my last travel to a conference with 1500 participants, my top 10 values of a business trip are:

- You get to see places which probably aren′t on your “to go” vacation list

- You experience these business locations in a professional and casual environment

- You get to stay in hotels (I love it)

- You become a packing expert

- You become a networking expert

- You become a time management and planning expert

- You get to deal with unforeseen happenings (strengthens dynamism and creativity)

- You′re still working but get a break from the office routine

- Most important of all: you get to know the people you are travelling with much better, outside the daily office environment. A business travel strengthens relationships

- And not to forget: you′re doing business

Totally agree. Notice that your point "Most important of all: you get to know the people you are travelling with much better, outside the daily office environment. A business travel strengthens relationships" We have a famous saying in Arabic for those who say that they know someone, we ask them: "Did you travel with this person? Because if you didn't, it implies that you don't really know him/her well !!"
