A Great Team Building Exercise

A Great Team Building Exercise

One of the hardest things to develop inside of any company is team chemistry. It’s one thing to have your team focused in the same direction; it is quite another thing when they actually enjoy what they are doing. There are many ways to create this atmosphere. Organizing a team-building exercise that supports a local charity helps build morale and team cohesiveness. We have an idea...

Think about hosting a donation drive at your office.?

This can foster a “feel good” sentiment among your team, as the drive is focused on sustainability. They are not just getting together for a potluck lunch; as a group, they are accomplishing something worthwhile.?

It is probably safe to assume that everyone at work has something they can or want to donate. This will give them an easy and convenient way to make their donations.?Plus, it can be fun!?Think of it as a kind of white elephant party. To paraphrase an old slogan: one person’s donation is another person’s treasure.?You could set this up as a competition of sorts between departments. Or you can create different “green” teams, with the winner getting a free lunch.

You would want to promote a donation drive both internally and externally. It will reflect positively on your company or brand and give your team members something to brag about.

This can also be an opportunity to donate things around the office that you no longer use. While we do not accept office furniture, we will take things like old lamps, unopened stationery, and small home goods (like that microwave).? Your team can also bring in dated technology like personal computers, old printers, and the like.

At the end of your drive, Goodwill will gladly come to your location and pick up everything you have collected!

We obviously have a vested interest in helping you make this a huge success. There is a complete list of guidelines on our website that will guide you into making this a great team building. You can find that here:?https://dcgoodwill.org/organizing-a-donation-drive-in-your-community/

Organizing a donation drive at your place of work is a team-building exercise everyone can participate in. It serves the dual purpose of uniting your office and doing good in your community.?Let us know how we can help!
