Such an inspiring talk from W. Brett Wilson with references to his experience as a businessman, philanthropist, author, Dragon’s Den deal maker and father. Brett gave his heartfelt perspectives on the merits of Economic empowerment over Economic diversification and how focusing on Corporate Charitable opportunity is better than the concept of obligatory Corporate “Responsibility”.
With his characteristic wit and humor, he discussed knee jerk concepts of climate change and how climate change data should be examined with a suggestion that a revenue model should be used to lead climate change initiatives. He agreed with proponents of Canadian LNG -that Canada should use it should to effectively reduce GHG emissions globally by displacing coal in the countries that import and consume vast amounts of coal. He had a great take on the effects on social media and how it is truly an enigma. Since it was also World Mental Health day on Oct 10th, Brett also touched on how we can focus on mental wellness to remove stigmas and the importance on reaching out to our teenagers. Many thanks to Brett for really connecting with so many and addressing questions about current challenges and solutions across Canada with wit and great insight.
We are definitely looking forward to hearing more from W. Brett Wilson.
