Recently, we hosted ISE RPI Professor Tom Sharkey in our UMass Amherst INFORMS Speaker Series. I posted some highlights from his excellent presentation on his NSF-funded project on emergency response in the Arctic on my blog, along with photos. Many thanks to Professor Sharkey! We also celebrated a milestone with cake - 15 years of the UMass Amherst INFORMS Student Chapter.

5 年Reminds me of the lectures we had and how much I learned from those. It's the sad truth that LMICs focus more on infrastructural and material shifts in policy when it comes to disaster preparedness, but ignore the human resilience aspect.
