Great SCOT! a Substack publication
Right before Covid-19, I was having an increased number of consulting requests regarding car sharing. Most of the requests were from people who wanted car-sharing to come back to Portland, or come for the first time to their city, typically in Oregon and Washington.
I found myself referring back to a body of information I had collected on the topic over the years since it is an interest of mine, but it was lacking some historical perspective.
During the pandemic, I used my extra downtime to reach out to those car share founders and leaders that I knew. I collected surveys and did several video and phone interviews.
I took those interviews and surveys, along with academic journals and research about car sharing, and mapped out my findings. From there I created a long-form editorial.
I shared this editorial with my journalist and writer friends who then encouraged me to self-publish and keep writing more!
I present you the “Great SCOT!” free Substack.
The Great "Smart Cities of Tomorrow" (SCOT) are forming quickly all around us. Join me on a journey of discovery as we dive deep with insiders and experts to figure out what is coming next and how we can shape it to our needs.
The long-form editorial I wrote is called "Car share is dead, long live car share!" It is a 5 volume series, the first of which is already available to read.
If you have a topic you want me to cover or you want to join the conversation please don't hesitate to let me know!
