The Great Resolution Detox
Marie Kondo Your Goals for Clarity
Can I get real a sec? This hustle culture’s goals got me chasing ghosts. Just when I capture what I thought I wanted, poof - the fulfillment vaporizes. My checklist lifestyle’s got me existing for someday maybes over living today fully.
As old mate Seneca said, “People are frugal guarding their personal property; but as soon as it comes to squandering time they are most wasteful of the one thing in which it is right to be stingy.”
We hoard material stuff yet blow 24 hours daily distracted. We scroll instead of being present with loved ones. Overwork steals rest. Uber-optimizing robs satisfaction.
Now Marcus Aurelius - he had the right idea saying true joy comes not from what we’re aiming at but how we choose to walk the path. Not arrive at destinations but mindfully move through each moment.
Imagine replacing never-enough treadmills with present moment mindfulness? Tuning out got-to noise and tuning into intuition: “What aligns with my values now?”
The anxious brain resisting uncertainty?
Befriend it. Let goals evolve fluidly. Judge less. Flow more.
Stuff rarely sets us free; space and simplicity often do.
