The Great Resignation Trend
I’m sure by now, you’ve heard of the term “The Great Resignation”.
There is a pattern emerging that employees are now more inclined to leave their current employment if they aren’t satisfied.
To give you an indication of this trend - In August alone, 4.3 million people in the US left their jobs according to the Job Openings and Labour Turnover Survey and Microsoft research indicated that approximately 40 per cent of the workplace globally is considering leaving their current employment this year.
This means that the pool of talented staff is more mobile and more inclined to move on from their current employment.
What Does This Mean For Employers?
In essence, this means that employers need to rethink their work conditions and what would be needed for their staff to want to stay.

3 年Thanks Jodi Woelkerling as we discussed on The Today's Leader Podcast there are many unforeseen issues coming to light as we head out of the pandemic, and one of these is this great resignation shift. I believe part of this revolves around the increasing impacts on our lives by outside forces like govts and companies, and that people are wanting to seize some of that back and make a shift for themselves. The deal here foe companies is the more they attempt coercion or persuasion, they more likely they may face a rebellion. People are embracing alternative means of employment a d leaders and businesses must remain flexible in their approach.

3 年The cost to the business by far exceeds the cost to replace those employees. People are assets, not expenses. Nice piece Jodi!
