Great Resignation or Great Revelation?

Great Resignation or Great Revelation?

We’ve heard of the Great Resignation - but what about the Great Revelation??

Revealing, embracing,? and working through your Superpowers is the path to help you energize new choices in your work, boost happiness in life, and positively impact your well being.?

As you reflect on the choices ahead, it may be a good time to pause and practice this meaningfulness exercise.?

Instead of thinking about, “what am I getting” out of this job, or relationship, or community.? Reflect deeply on “what am I becoming” through this job, relationship, or community. Here are some tips to help with your reflection:

  • Find a quiet place where you won’t be interrupted
  • Close your eyes and breathe in and breathe out in a relaxed pace
  • Notice your breath flowing in and out of your heart area as you begin to visualize what you are becoming through your job, relationship, or community.
  • Notice any shift in the your in breath and out breath or any physical sensations
  • As you continue to breathe in and breathe out bring a smile to your heart and allow your mind to wander to something that feels energizing and alive
  • Continue breathing in and breathing out at you experience the energizing feeling

Whenever you are ready, slowly blink your eyes open. What thoughts, images, feelings, colors, or memories did you experience? It may be helpful to write these down. I like using index cards and a pen, but you may prefer to grab your phone and snap a video.

What I’ve learned is that the things that feel energizing to me represent the “real me” - not the MASK or projection of what I am getting, which is more about who the world thinks I am. The real you is not the MASK of your “doingfulness” to get something. The real you is reflected in what makes you feel most alive and energized. In your unique combination of Superpowers.?

Your Superpowers are referred to as your “Signature Strengths” in positive psychology.? These Signature Strengths represent the strengths that are most essential to who you are as a person.? Signature Strengths are not your skills or talents - the things you are good at doing. Signature Strengths are the things that you are good at “being.” Signature Strengths represent your best qualities and provide you with empowerment in knowing, “this is the real me.”?

What choices do the “real you” want to make?

Who do you want to become?
