A Great Reminder

A Great Reminder

I came across a post that Maria Shriver put on Facebook and it really resonated with me.?She posted a photo she took of a chalk board at a NYC coffee shop which said, "The whole world is short on staff, be kind to those that showed up."

It seems like everything is different since the Covid-19 virus appeared. Everyone reading this has probably been affected in one way or another – after all – people were dying!?Traumatic questions we had to face: Will I die? Will people I love die??Do we shut our business down??Should I stay home??Do our groceries need to be wiped down? Should all purchases be on line??What will my financial future be??Can I shop indoors??Is all travel forbidden? Is it safe to fly??Can I see my extended family??Are the vaccines and boosters safe? Etc!?

Fast forward to now and many of these concerns have been resolved, answered, or experienced.?In addition, many of us have encountered purchasing shortages and supply chain issues. Just talk to any contractor about that. And yes, staff shortages everywhere!?When sales decreased we had to furlough some very valuable people and it was a painful decision.?We are now experiencing the opposite situation.?As sales continue to increase, we are unable to fill certain positions!??

This situation reinforces how thankful I am for my dedicated staff who show up every day and manage to do the very best they can to take care of our clients.?We are all wearing a lot of hats around here to “get the job done” and "do whatever it takes."?Those mottos are the core and heartbeat of our business. And did I mention how grateful I am we even still have a business?

That chalk board message is ?a great reminder to appreciate and show kindness and patience to those that show up, and actually, all those we encounter. If we can try to remember that we've all experienced some horrifying things these last 2.5 years; kindness truly is the answer.
