Our first installment of The Knowledge Library features the book Strangers in Paradise, by James Grubman, Ph.D.

Summary: This book explores the parallels that exist between the journeys of immigrants to new land and those who embark on an economic transition from working or middle class to affluent. Grubman discusses how “immigrants to the Land of Wealth” exhibit many similar characteristics and tasks as immigrants including raising children in the new world. He highlights that the key process for both wealthy families and immigrant families is adaptation.?

Why we like it: A book that would resonate with many within our Pal Insurance community, it brings to light the different life experiences of first and second generations and provides insights as to how families can collaboratively work to adapt and overcome these differences.
