Nancy has said for a long time that large businesses have more influence than vast historical kingdoms. In fact, last April, GQ magazine wrote an article featuring Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, which said he’s “more influential than most actual Presidents”. That’s a lot of influence which he doesn’t take lightly.??
Granted, your job might not be running a trillion dollar business, but you all do play a role in moving your organization along in very important ways. You are marketers launching new products, analysts presenting critical data to stakeholders, or L&D leaders embedding organizational competencies so the company can reach its goals. Your ability to present a message clearly and persuasively is essential to organizational success—and frankly to some of the world's greatest causes too.??
Below are resources we’ve curated for you to help advance your career (and maybe even lead a kingdom) using the Duarte Method?.?
Story?
Telling a story during your talk influences the audience. However, many communicators are hesitant to tell stories because it requires them to be authentic and transparent about their life. But a poorly told story leaves no impact or can obscure the speaker's point. To effectively tell a story, it is important to tell it well and avoid five common causes of poorly told stories.

Visuals?
Presentations carry some of the most important messages in an organization. It’s easy to lose your message if your presentation design isn't thought out. Great visuals make messages clearer and ensure your audience grasps your message. It’s important to adhere to these four fundamental principles of presentation design when creating your next presentation.
Delivery
When delivering a high-stakes presentation, it's not enough to focus solely on creating the content and visuals. Rehearsal is a critical step that many presenters neglect. The way you communicate your message is just as important to your audience as what you communicate. These tips can help improve your delivery and build confidence.?
Empathy?
Let’s say you’re a company or department leader hoping to undertake a successful organizational change, you can keep your team onboard and motivated to help make change happen. How information is communicated to employees during a change matters more than what information is communicated. A lack of empathy when conveying news about an organizational transformation can cause it to fail. Here are some strategies to help understand the change from your employee's perspective.
To be effective, empathy is required in every aspect of strategy, story, visuals, and delivery. An empathy-centric approach helps you by crafting a narrative that resonates with your target audience. Then visualize the story so it sticks in their minds-eye and deliver it so well it creates respect for you and your idea. This is how your company can lead in the market and your influences rises too.?

1 年there's so much truth to what you say Nancy Duarte, that as it turns out, I was asked to give a virtual presentation two days ago [the presentation will be in late August] and because I've developed highly visual content for my dental learners, I was actually able to put together the presentation with the content desired in under 10 minutes [and the tools that you and Patti Sanchez have developed in the virtual environment are likely to result in something successful and meaningful]
