Great news for BIGMAN (Strijder)

BIGMAN is one of the five nominees for the Shine Global Film Awards held in New York and LA. After a successful festival year with 14 wins, this is again great news! We are thankful that we can share our inspiring and empowering story with the world.

The Shine Global Event recognizes and celebrates the films and filmmakers that highlight the resilience and strength of children in the face of adversity. Nominees are selected from an open call of submissions of feature films of any genre that showcase children overcoming challenges, such as poverty, violence, illness, and discrimination, and demonstrate their resilience, courage, and determination. The awards events starts at 28th September 2023 with film screenings of the nominees in New York City. The jury is comprised of film industry experts and children’s rights activists. The winner will be announced at an awards show in Los Angeles at Paramount Pictures on Oct. 3, with a grand prize of $15,000.

Screenwriter Job Tichelman and I are going to this exciting event. And because BIGMAN is still exclusive in North America, this event seems a great opportunity to bring the film oversea and have exposure there.
