Great Leaders, if you surround yourself with people who quit. You, too, will eventually quit. Gravity eventually drives every man to the ground. To have gravity bring you up rather than down, you must reverse its direction. It's the only way to prevent a fall. Surround yourself with appropriate people, and failure is impossible.
The adage, "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with," has significant consequences for leadership. Leaders who surround themselves with people who are prone to quitting run the risk of suffering a similar fate.
This phenomena, similar to the inescapable pull of gravity, emphasizes the importance of purposeful environmental cultivation.
Just as the quality of soil, sunlight, and water influences a plant's growth, so do the people in a leader's inner circle mold their potential. Leaders may foster personal and professional growth by surrounding themselves with people who exemplify ambition, resilience, and a growth mentality.
This deliberate curation of one's surroundings is not just a preference, but a strategic necessity. It is about using a high-performing team's collective strength and intelligence to produce amazing results.
Finally, the value of a leader's journey is heavily influenced by the group of people they keep. Leaders can overcome the gravitational pull of mediocrity by deliberately choosing persons who inspire, challenge, and support them.
