Great Lakes Action Plan 2030 featured on the Agenda
On Monday, September 16th, TVO's The Agenda devoted its entire hour to Great Lakes issues, including a panel, featuring Gord Miller, Nicola Crawhall, Gail Krantzberg and Terry Rees, discussing lake water levels and shoreline flooding, and other challenges facing the Great Lakes. Gord Miller, former Environment Commissioner of Ontario, and co-chair of the Expert Panel for the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Collaborative, talked about the Great Lakes Action Plan 2030, released June 18th. Nicola Crawhall, former Deputy Director of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative and Principal at Westbrook Public Affairs, expressed hope that Provincial Flooding Advisor, Doug McNeil, will deliver recommendations to the Province that will address the crisis facing shoreline communities like Chatham Kent, which declared a state of emergency last week due to flooding.
