Great Kids, Great Need - Little Havana, Miami, FL

So many of you know about this group of kids I work with in Little Havana of Miami. Each year I raise money for school supplies. A backpack full of school supplies is given to a child in need for every $25 donation. Urban Promise has been around since 2010. This is my my fifth year and the need has increased to 140 kids this year. The organization provides activities, mentoring, tutoring, and counseling services to kids living in a rough part of town. I know the program works because for the last three years, every kid in the program has a grade advancement or graduated from high school - that is 100% success. In Little Havana, typically 35-38% of the kids graduate high school. So the program really works. So why am I telling you about this? Well, I'm looking for donations again this year. Every donation is tax deductible and you will receive a receipt for tax purposes. I have set up a special PayPal for donations, or send me a Private message about sending checks, if you prefer. I will be happy to send you a link of our video handing out the backpacks from past years (I've posted it in the past and will again soon). The pictures are from last year's summer camp. I know several of my friends and family have helped out and I'm hoping a few more step up this year. Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you.
