I've had some nice media-promo successes over the years. In a month-long campaign, I achieved a 10% media-response/coverage rate for my client (and that's good, considering the traditional average is 1-2 %!).
?? And when I promoted a traditionally-published book I did years ago, I ultimately achieved a rate of 65% - albeit over several months. This was way above what the publisher-distributor's publicity dept. had been able to do. And in a few instances, my own efforts brought an acceptance where previously there was no response.
