The Great Day has finally Arrived in Canberra.

After years of planning and background work, today marked the realisation of University of New South Wales strategic vision to establish a cutting-edge program at the Canberra city campus of UNSW.

The Canberra School of Professional Studies was established to challenge old ways of skills and knowledge development. It is made up of innovative academics and professionals with cutting edge research, industry experience, educational excellence and learner engagement. We are agile. We work in co-creative and co-design spaces with industries and launch partners. We do things differently, think differently and challenge existing systems and processes. We collaborate to cross fertilise ideas. We are a new thought leadership school from UNSW, a Go8 University in Australia, ranked 19th in the world, located at the heart of our nation’s capital.?

After few years of delivering innovative postgraduate programs in cybersecurity, today marked the arrival of our first cohort of undergraduate students into our cybersecurity program. Our undergraduate cybersecurity program is unique. It is an on-campus delivery. It is work integrated. It targets only domestic students. Our select students come from different schools and organisations with unique skills and passion. Welcome on board.

I thank the visionary UNSW Executive Leadership who nurtured this dream. I am particularly grateful to our wonderful Faculty Executive, particularly our Rector Professor Emma Sparks, Deputy Rector Professor Harvinder Sidhu, our Faculty Executive Director, Kath Kulhanek, and my senior leadership colleagues for their unwavering support in making this day a reality. Our entire Canberra city campus staff have worked tirelessly to make this day special. I feel privileged and humbled to lead such a dynamic school in our current challenging global climate. Welcome on board our new world.
