A great day at the DMWF!

We recently attended the Digital Marketing World Forum and their sister event Influencer Marketing World at The Business Design Center and we had a blast!

We attended some fantastic sessions which were really thought provoking and had some great insight into the upcoming trends in the digital marketing space and what to expect from the next 5 years in the industry.

Some key takeaways of the day from the Trapeze Media team:

  • Emotions account for 80% of our decisions, only 20% are logical.
  • Humans are 4 x more likely to make an emotional decision.
  • 60% of millennials make purchases based on ‘FOMO’ (fear of missing out).
  • 85% of people trust online customer reviews as much as they trust a friend.
  • We should adopt personalisation tactics that automatically influence persuasion using emotion to drive conversion.

Talk: ‘What I didn’t know about LinkedIn: 5 questions we should all be asking’ - Amrita Lal, Senior Client Solutions Manager, LinkedIn.

  • You have the ability to influence 80,000 people in your lifetime - What will you do with this power?
  • It’s all about influence NOT influencer.
  • Nurture the power of influence to build authentic content and relationships.

John Campbell, Managing Director, Rabbit & Pork, talking all things voice search with Alexa and Google. Voice search is finally part of actual daily life, whether it’s kids searching for answers to homework or annoying songs or it’s calling out for your shopping list to be updated. When there’s a topic I’m interested in I always enjoy the intricate case studies and this was a great talk to see how much opportunity there is within voice search.

  • ‘Unlocking Opportunities for Brands Using Real Alexa Voice Searches’ - John Campbell, Managing Director, Rabbit & Pork (part of TIPi Group).
  • ‘The art of psychology in personalisation’ - Darren Teague, Senior Account Executive, Spotler.
  • ‘It’s time to up your engagement game’ - Cari Kirby, Head of Marketing , Peek & Poke
  • ‘Panel: The Creator Economy’ - Gordon Glenister Influencer Marketing Strategist , Chief Strategy Officer, Audience2 Media. Louise Alexandra Erskine, Creator.? James Middleton, Creator & Fitness and Mindset Coach. Sarah Mulindwa, Creator & TV personality.

We were extremely well looked after on the day with a lunch voucher for a delicious salad box, a soft drink and snacks and The Room provided some sensational complimentary cocktails - the espresso martini and passion fruit margarita were our particular favourites!
