The Great Cloud Migration powered by the Infosys Cobalt Community!

The hybrid cloud ecosystem will become the foundation on which all large and small enterprises will run. Today, most of our clients have stated their vision to move and operate fully on cloud over the next five years. This migration will require thousands of applications, data, infrastructure, and business capabilities built over the last few decades to be modernized and moved to cloud. This is a herculean task for most enterprises. 

Similar to East Africa’s Great Migration, the largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world sees millions of animals cross the savanna preserving and nurturing an ecosystem as old as time. This requires a community of cloud builders, powered by curated knowledge assets, proven solutions, platforms, and an ability to rapidly experiment, innovate, and scale. To make this happen, Infosys launched the Infosys Cobalt Community that aims to be the world’s largest enterprise cloud community to help enterprises drive innovation at scale. We are nurturing and scaling this community by providing cloud builders with a set of tools and platforms to get the Art and Science of cloud transformation and acceleration right the first time. The community works from the grassroots level upwards across industries, organizations, functions, and technologies to develop reusable cloud assets that can be applied to power the great migration.

While we are currently scaling the cloud community internally within Infosys and with academia, it will gradually be extended outside of Infosys to include a larger ecosystem of clients and partners. This move will enable and enrich each ecosystem’s assets to solve challenges.

How does the Infosys Cobalt Community work?

Enterprises can access an ever-growing catalog of over 200 industry cloud-first solution blueprints, curated from more than 14,000 cloud assets. The Infosys Cobalt community focuses on the expanding store of cloud assets, classified into four broad categories, which can be consumed by members under different models.

Business assets - platforms, services and solutions focusing on industry verticals and sub verticals, horizontal business capabilities, cross-industry business assets.

Engineering assets - frameworks, platforms, services, AI/ML models, BOTS, code snippets which can be utilized to create higher-level solutions on a cloud ecosystem.

Knowledge assets - frameworks, solution capability models, reference architectures, process models which can be utilized for project implementation.

Learning assets - methodologies, approaches, best practices, learnings curated based on our cloud transformation projects and hyperscaler technologies and business solutions.

Gain access to the Infosys Cobalt Store. This is a marketplace where assets are continuously made available on the one-stop-shop for platforms, IP, offerings, solutions and reusable components. The repository will host assets and solutions that benefit clients embarking on cloud journey. It works on a marketplace model where clients can add their assets too and solve their specific business problems. The multi-tenant store is managed in a layered manner based on user persona, enabling better search, usage, standardization, and reuse. The assets are calibrated against three levels of maturity: labs, incubate, and graduate that ensure only top-notch and high-quality IPs are retained. Powered by telemetry, and available on the cloud, the Infosys Cobalt Store enables continuous improvement of the platform as well as the user experience.
