This weekend saw me and a couple of friends hiking up to Kinder Scout in the Peak District. A little over 7 miles around Crowden Clough and Tower and the amazing Jacobs Ladder. It was tougher but manageable than the last walk although less distance than the trek around Derwent Edge. Planning continues for the Good Friday trip up to undertake the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
Today also saw the first instance since training started where the 5am alarm call was met with a moment of hesitation where I debated whether to snooze the alarm and convince myself that I would go later or another day. Really pleased to say that the alarm didn’t win and I was in the gym this morning for just after 6 for a cardio session with some weights.
I have also noticed that I am beginning to really enjoy the great outdoors and mountaineering and have recently joined the BMC and am currently debating whether to go on and undertake further training so that I can lead competently in the great outdoors. I have also started to explore the club network for members and will feedback on my experiences in this area over the coming weeks. Anyone that reads this that is a member of a club local to Cheshire please get in touch.
The petition is now on 82,608 signatures at time of going to press so there are still some signatures to ensure this is raised as a debate item. The link for the petition can be found here: bit.ly/VioletGracesLaw
The plan this week is to continue training and start increasing intensity and duration whilst trying to keep it fun, and varied and will include some gym sessions, a few walks, cycling and a couple of runs.
A reminder again of the causes I am raising money and awareness for:

Hospice care is not just a building, it is a way of caring for people. Our care aims to improve the lives of people whose illness may not be curable. Bolton hospice help people to live as actively as possible after diagnosis to the end of their lives, however long that might be. They place the highest value on respect and choice.
