Great British Lift Off

Great British Lift Off

Astronauts, satellites and big questions about whether we are alone in the universe… our third space podcast series Great British Lift Off is discussing it all!

Dr Murray Collins and I started recording our podcasts with Connect in Edinburgh (Edinburgh: Space Data Capital), moved out into Scotland (Scotland's Secret Space Race) and now we’re going UK-wide with this latest series.

Actually, we’re going even further - our first episode includes a live link with two female astronauts aboard the International Space Station: Kate Rubins and Shannon Walker.

If you’ve ever wondered

  • Where is the growth going to come from post-Covid?
  • What will my children’s job prospects look like?
  • Is climate change even possible?
  • And is there anyone out there?

… well, we’re going to try to answer all of that.

But it’s not a highfalutin, fancy pants lecture series - it’s an entertaining, down-to-earth yet astronomically exciting series of chats with the UK’s smartest, most inspiring people.

Murray is the space expert and I’m the wide-eyed asker of many questions - we make a point of winding each other up at every turn.

I think you’ll like it.

Please have a listen and subscribe - it’s on every major podcast network and also embedded here:

Out every Thursday, it’s a Connect production and supported by the incredible Data Driven Innovation Programme and the Science and Technology Facilities Council, part of UK Research and Innovation.
