Great British Entrepreneurs at 10 Downing Street

As the founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, I am proud to say that for over a decade, we have recognized and celebrated the remarkable spirit, tenacity, and creativity of entrepreneurs from across our diverse industries and regions. Our mission has always been to foster a supportive and collaborative community, where we not only recognise talent and ambition but also nurture it.

On Monday we had the privilege of welcoming 100 Great British Entrepreneurs to 10 Downing Street to a Great British Entrepreneurs reception with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Chancellor Jeremy Hunt.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak addresses Great British Entrepreneurs

It's impossible not to feel humbled when in a room with such accomplished individuals who have all left an indelible mark on their respective industries, making groundbreaking strides that have shaped the landscape of British business. So many members of this growing community have demonstrated time and again that with passion, resilience, and innovation, anything is possible.

Representing businesses, of all sizes and scopes, these entrepreneurs have not only created jobs and driven economic growth, but also inspired countless others to follow in their footsteps. They have shown that entrepreneurship is not just about financial success, but about making a meaningful impact on our society and on the lives of those around us.

So many of the entrepreneurs within our Great British Entrepreneurs community are the embodiment of the very best of British spirit and enterprise. They are a testament to what can be achieved when we dare to dream, when we challenge the status quo, and when we believe in the power of collaboration.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt said:

We want the UK to be the best place in the world to start, grow and invest in a business. At Spring Budget we took steps to reduce business taxation, boost access to talent, and get smarter with our regulation – and that was just the beginning.
It’s absolutely vital that we’re listening to – and working with – industry leaders, innovators and disruptors as we deliver on our priority to grow the economy.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said:

I am working every day on our five priorities – to halve inflation, grow the economy, reduce debt, cut waiting lists and stop the boats.
Since taking office, I’ve spoken to over 1000 business people - because they are the innovators and change-makers at the heart of our economy, supporting jobs, attracting investment and driving growth.
The UK can be proud of its business credentials. Through the creation of 162 tech unicorns, smarter regulation and world-leading universities – we’ve got the right ingredients to double down on growing the economy.
