A Great Article on What TOC can do for your medical practice!

James Cox, PhD, Timothy Robinson, MD and Wendy Maxwell, TOC expert have combined to write an excellent article entitled, Applying the Theory of Constraints to Solve Your Practice's Most Vexing Problem.  They start by asking you to imagine a practice in which patients receive appointments without delay, the rooming process is efficient, handoffs are smooth, patients get the care they need, revenue is growing, and you get to leave the office on time at the end of the day.  If this sounds too good to be true, read their article by clicking on this link:

Thank you for sharing, Bob. I'm currently reading Mr. Alex Knight's book Pride&Joy, which demonstrate how to transform a hospital which is daily fire firght for survival suffering from critical healthcare accident leading to patient casualty, into high quality health care provider, operational excellence, ongoing profitable in finance without exhausting the resources, a dramatic change by finding out the inherent simplicity in the complex system in the means of Theory of Constraints. Dr. Kelyn Youngman also mentioned that looking in the past, management in hospital made hardly improvement change by viewing each individual department as independant part and ending with up local optimal, comparing to tremendous investment throwing in for improvement by means of Lean and Six Sigma, the results were so trivial. The power of focusing at the right link can leverage dramatic improvement without big investment.

Great article Bob ! Also refer to another pioneer in Sami Bahri, DDS, Founder of " First Lean Dentist, Inc - who applied lean principles to his dentist practice in Florida, and interested people should read his lessons learned 'learning path' very carefully ............
