Off late your stories are boring, disciple told the saint.
Ok. I could give slices of learning, moments of joy, and bites of this and that from my life.
If it is fun to listen to, why not? said the disciple.
Okay then. Today I will talk about a grey area I was not aware of sometime in my life.
Saint started.
I used to spend a lot of time in mentoring my team on various aspects. An area where I thought the disciples must improve on was communication.
Some of them really needed to improve on how to make a point and talking about what is important.
So, I was looking for ways to enable them.
In one of the sessions, I was telling them about importance of developing habits.
One of the habits they could develop is reading beyond the technical literature so that it improves how one communicates.

So, why don’t you go to a bookstore and pick a book or two start developing the habit of reading, I asked them.
Couple of months passed and I was talking about communication part in a one-on-one session.
One of the comparatively younger disciples said, that he went to a bookstore and picked a book.
And he also said that the analytics shows that it has so and so many new words and phrases and stuffs one could learn.
I said to myself, this is the one, the chosen one, disciple of my own. So technical. A proud moment for any teacher!
And I was curious to know which book it was.
He replied with a lot of pride in his voice, "Fifty shades of Gray".
I realized immediately the gray areas in my communication. I should have been a lot more specific about the literature. Little I knew about the modern-day literature.
