Why Gravity Always Attract but Like Electric Charges Repel
My latest article, "Gravity and Electric Charges: Attraction and Repulsion," was just published yesterday on Towards Data Science.
In the article, I try to explain mathematically how particles interact through the exchange of force particles as described, for example, in the chapter "Elementary Particles and the Forces of Nature," of the book "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking.
The article is based on the Nobel laureate Julian Schwinger's approach to quantum field theory called source theory.
It gives a simple explanation as to why equal charges repel, and masses attract using the virtual particles exchanged in the process.
