Across the globe, all men and women of Adam and eve who have either been buried or burnt died with one thing in common, it is called guilt. It doesn’t matter if those who died were pastors, priests, pandits, bandits, thieves, or a common joe, they carried at least one guilt to their graves.
It’s a universal phenomenon, no less than an epidemic, almost on the verge of being declared pandemic. It’s probably the only thing that does not suffer any gender bias, it treats everyone with equal disregard and tramples everyone equally.
?Guilt! It’s a very sticky, painful feeling of self-ridicule and self-reproach. Do you remember fevicol? As kids, often we used to dirty our hands with fevicol, a white sticky substance that would stick to the fingers and would stink for hours and days. That’s what guilt exactly smells and looks like.
?It’s like the plant cactus. Needs very less water to live and can live and survive in dry areas. Guilt in the human body can survive literally on anything. If you do bad it thrives because the voice in the head declares you as a bad person. You do good and then the guilt of the past bad deeds pulls you down, reminding you that you are still a bad person. Something bad happens to you and your guilt says, “you deserve it”! if some good comes your way, the guilt shouts” you don’t deserve it”!
?Remember Alcohol! The more you drink the more you need to sustain the same level of intoxication. That’s the anatomy of guilt. To maintain its optimum level and relevance in your life, it feeds on your self-esteem and continues to grow like a parasite. The more you fall for guilt, the more it makes you fall for itself.

We do not realize but guilt turns us into a donkey, or a better term is an Ass. It keeps carrying the baggage till the time the toes hurt, the knuckles crack, and the heart moans.
So… you must ask, how should one work with a strong toxic emotion like guilt? I would recommend going to a Water Dam. A Dam is structured across a stream, or river, to confine and then control the flow of water. Guilt needs to be controlled and channelized into a correction. It should lead to ownership, it should lead to introspection, and it should lead to redemption.
And then the guilt-driven fool asked the wise man” what do I do with my guilt?
The wise man replied, “Either use it or throw it”!
