Today's breakfast was more than a meal. Our server at Another Broken Egg served a revelation to me and my friend, Skip Allen .
After exceptional food and service, our server, Tristen, handed me the receipt. As I pulled out my card, I noticed "thank you!" handwritten on our receipt—a masterstroke in business relations.
This gesture was a small yet stark reminder that in an era where "success" often means a fast. Amidst the grind (coffee pun :--), those personal, human touches genuinely bind. With one stroke of the pen, Tristen exposed a profound truth: the undeniable impact of personal warmth.
This encounter reinforced a point I often reflect on:
The heart of the business is not in transactions but in relationships built on trust, credibility, and respect.
It's a testament that in the pursuit of productivity, human connections are what stand the test of time.
In fact, a study published in the Journal of Applied Social Psychology found that servers who wrote a "thank you" message on guests' checks saw an increase in their tips. So, not only is human connection personally empowering, it's also more profitable.
Let's return to the essence of genuine interaction. Remember the power of a simple 'thank you.' It's more than a courtesy; it's the foundation of enduring personal and professional relationships.
