Gratitude
Practicing gratitude allows you to have a predominant habit of seeking and finding the good in life. The word gratitude is derived from the Latin word gratia, which means grace, graciousness, or gratefulness (depending on the context). Gratitude is an expression of thank you for what we receive from others. It could be people, the universe, or even God, with whom our faith lies.?
There are wonderful reminders in our everyday life that when you practice gratitude, you attract the good in your life. Yesterday was one such day for me. I went out for a meal with a couple of acquaintances and there was a general gregarious banter amongst us. One person in the group asked me what I do and upon knowing my profession, we started a merry chit chat. The chit-chat which was between us both slowly drew the group into the conversation and there was a merry buzz. As the minutes went by I toned down my conversation and started listening to the group speaks. In the course of the conversation, each one of them in their own way started appreciating and showing gratitude for the time that they were getting to spend with each other away from their robust lives.
I believe the good attracts the good and yesterday was one such day. As the time to say goodbye came in, I noticed each one of us was flushed with happiness and calmness. I reached home and had one of the best sleep I could, waking up fresh as a fiddle. This is the power of gratitude. Appreciating what you have, at the moment or at any time convenient to you.?
