Gratitude, a superpower...
...excerpt from my daily message to the company (this message was sent earlier this Fall)
"Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it" - William Arthur Ward
It only takes seconds, but the power can last hours, days, weeks. When gratitude is shared for someone's actions whether it is given directly to the person "thank you for doing this..." or publicly "I would like to thank..." the power to yourself and others is amazing - it's exponential. If you are truly impressed and thankful, and the action reflects something remarkable, say it to that person, acknowledge it to others.
Focus - like all aspects of improving strength of mind, gratitude takes focus and requires discipline to truly master this portion of conditioning of the mind. For gratitude to have the exponential power, you must practice this daily. When you first wake up and throughout the day - remind yourself of the blessings you have!! Even in the face of failing to achieve your desired outcome - be thankful. See the failure or rejection as a gift not a burden. Think to yourself that this may have happened to strengthen you or to prepare you for something even greater.
When you convert in your mind burdens, failures, or inconveniences to "gifts" and express gratitude for that opportunity to receive that gift you condition your mind. No one likes it, but oftentimes you have no choice....it is truly up to you how you view it - gift of burden. Trust me, convert it to a gift and be thankful.
TODAY WILL BE A GREAT DAY!!!! Because we chose for it to be a GREAT DAY!!! That is our choice and what we are so thankful for, thankful for what we have and what we will achieve!!!
Joe
