Reflecting today on how grateful I am for so many things in life. The stay at home orders allowed me to spend more time talking (at a distance) with neighbors. I was so impressed and inspired seeing so many new people and families outside walking and jogging. I thought how great it is that families are now spending more time together with both their parents being home. My girlfriend Linda also took advantage of the outdoor opportunities and began to jog. She now is running 3.5 miles per day on her run days. I subscribed to a chef meal order program and my girlfriend and I began cooking new meals together. We also did the biggest spring cleaning of all time. Wow, purging old stuff feels great! I found time to talk on the phone more to friends and family. One of the best things was that my dad and I worried about each other though all this and began to talk on a regular basis not letting the excuse of "being too busy" get in the way. Even though it was one at a time, I had the opportunity to see my son Giovanni graduate from high school. Now, despite some of his social challenges became an online salesperson for part time work. Watching this help him form great communication skills was a blessing. Bless his heart he is really an angel. I was able to focus more on my business being home, instead of spending all that time in airports. My employees became more efficient working from home and using mobile technologies to collaborate and communicate. I got to see the more human side or business associates as their dogs or kids were now present in the background of conference calls. As I watched the country rise up into a places of making a new stand for their beliefs, I was able to reflect and validate that the position and choices I have made through life were the right ones. That is, that I walk through life looking into each persons eyes and taking that moment to make the world spin around them. That act of giving, compassion and acceptance is one that allows me to freely give back the gratitude and open mindedness that I achieved by walking through a fire of life lessons. If you see me, know that the look in my eyes is real. Know that the energy that I exude is real and is freely given to you if you need a recharge. Know that anyone of you that walks the earth can come get a real handshake with eye contact or even a strong hug. I am not hear to pass judgment or to minimize your struggles. I am only hear to say I understand and with open arms I accept your willingness to bond in friendship. To learn from one another a way of gratitude and forgiveness. Yes... This time at home reflecting and seeing all that is happening in the world has reassured me that the best way we can all be is together, united and showing love and acceptance.

Wow. Great article and so much truth. We can not control what happens around us but we can decide our response and always look for the good and be grateful.
Helping association members, ICs & small businesses reduce operating costs and protect their biggest asset-their health and ability to earn, for considerably less cost than you'd expect.
4 年Stephen, the family time at our home has been wonderful.
